About GMF

The GENO MORGAN FOUNDATION (GMF) is a registered non-profit organization located in Beaverton, OR. The GMF is committed to honoring and celebrating Geno’s life by continuing his work of making a difference in the lives of our young people. Geno’s legacy will be realized through efforts rooted in GMF special programming and monetary scholarships enabling underserved* youth the opportunity to achieve higher education and ultimately realize their full potential.

– GENO MORGAN, March 31st, 1966 – July 2nd, 2015 was a gentle giant with a powerful, infectious spirit and energy. He combined his passion for life with utilizing his gifts and talents to reach and teach kids throughout the country. While basketball was his sport of choice, Geno committed himself to coaching and mentoring young people on and off the court with a reach that extended well beyond athletics and in multiple states.
– GENO impacted kids in Anchorage Alaska, Mt. Pleasant Utah, Atlanta Georgia and Chicago Illinois where he consistently spoke with youth about being successful in the ”game of life”. He was truly an inspiring educator empowering and supporting kids to dream, achieve and get on the path to realize their full potential regardless of their personal He was a devoted and loving husband, father, son, uncle, grandfather, coach, mentor, friend and philanthropist. Geno believed that we all have a responsibility to positively impact the future and we should all work today for a better tomorrow for our youth.

The G.E.N.I.U.S. Scholarships carry more than financial support—they carry Geno’s spirit of love, encouragement, and belief in others. Each award represents his vision of lifting up young people who might otherwise be overlooked, giving them the chance to grow, thrive, and pursue their dreams.
